Wemyss Malts The Hive is a blended malt Scotch whisky, led by Speyside single malts with malts from the Highlands, Lowlands and Islay. It is a small-batch blend, put together with Charles MacLean, and bottled at 46% ABV, non-chill filtered, in a 70cl bottle.
It takes its name from its honeyed character.
Tasting notes describe orange blossom honey over hot buttered loaf on the nose, with golden sultanas and soft saffron. The palate brings tingling spice, orange peel, fresh ginger and honey toddy warmth, and the finish is clove-studded grapefruit with a little dry wood smoke.
