Westland 'Wine Cask Finish' is an American single malt whiskey from the Westland Distillery in Seattle, Washington, in a 70cl bottle at 46% ABV.
It is made from locally sourced malted barley, fermented with a combination of yeast strains, and aged in casks that previously held wine, which add their own influence alongside the grain.
Tasting notes describe dark fruit such as blackberries and plums, with toasted oak, spice and a hint of caramel. The finish is long and smooth, with lingering tannins giving a dry, slightly tart edge.
