Whisky Is The Limit Blair Athol 12 Year Old Ex-Sherry (50cl, 56.9%)

A 12 year old single cask Blair Athol from the Highlands, bottled by Whisky Is The Limit in a 50cl bottle. It was distilled in June 2010, matured for its full term in a single refill sherry hogshead and bottled in July 2022. Blair Athol is more usually aged in bourbon casks, which makes the sherry maturation a less common choice. The strength is 56.9%, the colour is natural and there is no chill filtration. The outturn was 387 bottles. The nose has sweet Christmas spices and raisins. The palate shows warm spices, candied apples and oranges and notes of dark chocolate, and the finish is gently dry and woody.
