Whisky Is The Limit Caol Ila 12 Year Old Ex Bourbon (50cl, 58.5%)

This is a 12-year-old Caol Ila from Islay, bottled by Whisky Is The Limit at a cask strength of 58.5% in a 50cl bottle. It was distilled in August 2010 and bottled in October 2022. The whisky comes from a single bourbon hogshead and yielded 415 bottles. It is bottled with natural colour and without chill filtration. The nose shows fine peat, iodine and sea spray, with lemon and olive. On the palate the peat is present but not overpowering, alongside fresh lemon and ash and a very slight vanilla note from the barrel. The finish is elegant, maritime and peaty.
