This is a nine-year-old Caol Ila single malt from Islay, bottled by WhiskyDudes at a cask strength of 57.6%. It was distilled on 22 September 2014 and bottled on 20 June 2024, with 144 bottles filled from a single hogshead.
The whisky spent over two years in a first-fill Palo Cortado hogshead, and it has natural colour and no chill filtration.
On the nose, fruity smoke meets exotic fruit, ripe pear, walnuts and a hint of bacon, with fresh green apple peel. The palate has raisins, sugar syrup, cinnamon and a touch of Indian cake in a syrupy body. The finish is lively, with burning birch wood, ash, fruity peat, green apple, lime and delicate sherry.
