A single cask Glenrothes from Speyside, bottled by WhiskyDudes at 11 years old. The spirit was distilled in May 2012 and matured in a hogshead, then re-racked into a fresh Oloroso quarter cask for 29 months before bottling in July 2023.
It was bottled at 62.4% in a 70cl bottle, with natural colour and no chill filtration. The outturn was 143 bottles.
The nose is a mellow, old-style sherry character of figs, prunes, strawberry and whipped cream, with old leather and red grapes. On the palate come sultana raisins, blood orange, chocolate, crushed black peppercorns and floral rose petals. The finish is long and sticky, with plenty of caramel.
