This is a 12-year-old Speyside single malt from Strathmill, bottled by WhiskyDudes at 56% ABV in a 70cl bottle. It is natural colour and non-chill-filtered, with 129 bottles produced.
The whisky was distilled on 26 January 2011 and bottled on 6 February 2023. It matured in a hogshead, then spent two years re-racked into a first-fill tawny port quarter cask.
The nose is buttery, like freshly baked pastries, with Valencia oranges, delicate flowers and a hint of pear. The palate shows fresh dough, toffee and dark berries on a syrupy texture, with a little menthol and white asparagus. The finish is long, with a gentle spiciness of freshly crushed white pepper.
