A 15 year old straight rye whiskey from Whistle Pig, in a 70cl bottle. It is made from a mash of 100% rye.
The whiskey rests for 15 years in American oak barrels, then moves into casks of Vermont oak for further maturation, which adds a local note to the aroma.
It is a deep amber colour. The nose is sweet, from caramel to butter, with spice and a slight citrus hint. The palate is well bodied, round and enveloping, with a flavour that recalls tobacco. The finish is of good length.
