A 12-year-old rye whiskey from WhistlePig, part of the Bespoke Barrel range and finished in a Maple Crème Brûlée cask. It is a Mission Exclusive release, and the label shows 2023. The bottle holds 750ml.
The cask finish adds maple sweetness, caramelised sugar and vanilla to the spice of the rye.
On the nose it is maple syrup, vanilla custard and toasted oak. The palate is rich and layered, with brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg and peppery rye, and the finish is long and warming, with lingering maple sweetness and oak spice.
