WhistlePig 12 Year Bespoke Barrel is a rye whiskey finished in a Maple Crème Brûlée cask. It comes from WhistlePig's 12 year rye programme, where the Bespoke Barrel format allows custom barrel selections, and is bottled at 43% (86 proof) in a 750ml bottle.
The finish adds maple, caramelised sugar and vanilla custard to the rye spice and oak.
The nose is maple syrup, vanilla custard, caramelised sugar, toasted oak, cinnamon, rye spice and light citrus peel. The palate is rich and smooth, with brown sugar, vanilla, caramel, baking spice and warm rye. The finish is long and sweet, with maple, torched sugar, vanilla cream and oak spice.
