WhistlePig 12 Year Maple Crème Brûlée Cask is a limited edition rye whiskey from the distillery's Bespoke Barrel programme, bottled at 43% ABV in a 75cl bottle. It is made from a mash bill of 94% rye and 6% malted barley and matured for 12 years.
After that time it is finished in custom Maple Crème Brûlée casks, which are barrels that previously aged WhistlePig's own maple syrup.
Maple leads on the nose, with bananas foster, brown sugar, cinnamon, vanilla custard and caramelised sugar. The palate is sweet, with graham cracker, crème brûlée and banana pudding, and rye spice at the back. The finish is medium to long, with icing sugar, burnt maple and lingering rye warmth.
