WhistlePig 12 Year Old World Rye

WhistlePig 12 Year Old World is a straight rye whisky made from 12 year old rye. It comes from an experiment begun by master distiller Dave Pickerell on the WhistlePig Farm in the spring of 2014. Having studied Old World techniques, particularly those of Scotch whisky, the team paired the rye with European oak casks that had held Madeira, Sauternes, Port, Cognac and Sherry. After a series of single finish releases, this bottling emerged as a marriage of three of those finishes.
