WhistlePig 12 Year Old World is a 12 year old rye whiskey, bottled at 86 proof (43%). It is a marriage of whiskeys aged in new American oak and then finished in Madeira (63%), Sauternes (30%) and Port (7%) casks, an approach drawn from Old World barrel-aging traditions.
The nose brings caramel, vanilla and winter fruit. On the palate there is rye spice with apricots, plums, raisins, dates and honey. The finish carries dark chocolate, winter fruit, caramel and vanilla.
