WhistlePig 15 Year Old is a straight rye whiskey made from 100% rye, bottled at 46% in a 75cl bottle. It was distilled in Canada, then finished and hand-bottled at WhistlePig Farm in Shoreham, Vermont. Bottles are individually numbered and Kosher certified.
After 15 years in American oak, the rye is finished in new Vermont white oak barrels coopered from trees harvested on the farm, with a custom toast and char.
The nose offers caramel, vanilla and toasted oak with allspice and burnt orange peel. The palate is warm and velvety, with butterscotch, baking spice, leather, a hint of tobacco and citrus. The finish is very long, with earthy oak, rye spice and wood sugar.
