WhistlePig – Double Double 18 Year Old Fifth Edition (75cl)

WhistlePig Double Double is an 18-year-old rye whiskey, the Fifth Edition, in a 750ml bottle. It is the oldest WhistlePig expression to date. The whiskey is distilled from 79% rye, 15% malted rye and 6% malted barley. Malting part of the rye revives an old farm-distilling practice, and it adds floral, earthy character to the peppery spice of classic rye. It then spent 18 years in the barrel. The nose is sweet and aromatic, with toasted oak, berries and nutmeg. The palate is spicy, mildly fruity and floral, with vanilla and oak appearing over time, and the finish is long, clean and spicy.
