WhistlePig FarmStock Rye Crop 003 is a rye whiskey bottled at 43% in a 75cl bottle. It is the third FarmStock release, from 2019, made by WhistlePig Farm in Shoreham, Vermont, and is a limited edition.
It was the first FarmStock blend built mainly on the farm's own whiskey: 52% three-year-old rye made on the farm, blended with 31% six-year-old and 17% ten-year-old rye from Alberta, Canada.
The nose is sweet and aromatic, with vanilla, maraschino cherry, roasted chestnuts and hints of cigar box. On the palate come oak, toffee and baking spices, softening into creme brulee and rose petal. The finish is warm and lasting, with pleasant rye spice.
