WhistlePig Small Batch Rye is a straight rye whiskey aged for ten years and bottled at 50% ABV (100 proof). This one comes in a large 3-litre bottle.
WhistlePig sources and ages select barrels for its ryes, and this expression is built around rye spice with vanilla, caramel, oak and baking spice.
The nose combines vanilla, allspice, caramel, toasted oak, orange peel and cracked pepper. On the palate come rye spice, butterscotch, dark caramel, cinnamon, nutmeg and toasted vanilla. The finish is long and warming, with oak spice, pepper and sweet toffee.
