WhistlePig 10 Year Old is a small batch blend of straight rye whiskeys, bottled at 50% (100 proof). The whiskey was originally distilled in Alberta, Canada, then aged for ten years in new American oak and hand bottled at WhistlePig farm in Shoreham, Vermont.
It was conceived by founder Raj Bhakta and the late Master Distiller Dave Pickerell.
The colour is deep golden amber. The nose has allspice, orange peel, anise, oak char and caramel. The palate opens sweet with caramel and vanilla, then turns to assertive rye spice, mint and a touch of green apple. The finish is long and warming, with butterscotch, caramel and baking spice.
