WhistlePig The BigShəBàng is a 30 year old American single malt from the WhistlePig distillery in Shoreham, Vermont. It is a single barrel release made from 100% malted barley and distilled in 1995.
The whisky was first matured in American oak, then finished in Vin Santo dessert wine casks. It is bottled at 45.2% (90.4 proof), non-chill-filtered, in a 750ml bottle.
The nose offers caramelised figs, toasted almond, honey and dried apricot. The palate is velvety, with spiced orange peel, dark chocolate and roasted nuts. The finish is long and warming, with oak, vanilla bean and a faint wisp of smoke.
