WhistlePig The Boss Hog XIII: The Golden Pharaoh is a straight rye whiskey, the thirteenth release in the Boss Hog series. It was distilled in Kentucky, aged in new American oak and finished in Egyptian Black Honey barrels. It is a limited edition, hand bottled by WhistlePig Whiskey Co. in Brandenburg, Kentucky, at 51.3% (102.6 proof) in a 750ml bottle.
The nose combines bold rye spice with warm honey, toasted oak, caramelised sugar and dried fruit. On the palate, black honey sweetness meets baking spice, vanilla, dark caramel and roasted nuts. The finish is long and warming, with spiced honey, peppery rye and oak tannin.
