WhistlePig The Boss Hog XIII, named The Golden Pharaoh, is a straight rye whiskey in the distillery's Boss Hog series, a limited annual release. It comes in a 750ml bottle.
The rye is finished in Egyptian Black Honey barrels, which bring a honeyed sweetness alongside the intense, spicy rye character the brand is known for.
Tasting notes mention dark honey, toasted oak, caramel and dried fruit on the nose. The palate is full and layered, with rye spice, honey, cinnamon and dark fruit, leading to a long, warming finish of honey, spice and oak.
