A blended Scotch whisky from White Horse, bottled in the 1970s at 40% ABV in a one litre bottle. The label reads Fine Old Scotch Whisky and names White Horse Distillers Ltd. as the bottler, with the whisky bottled in Scotland.
White Horse traces back to 1880 and the merchants James Logan Mackie & Co. Four years later the firm bought a stake in Lagavulin distillery on Islay, which taught James Mackie's nephew Peter Mackie the craft of distilling and blending. After joining in 1890 he launched the White Horse blend the following year. The company was reorganised as White Horse Distillers after his death in 1924 and joined DCL in 1927.
