Widow Jane Lucky Thirteen 13 Year Old Single Barrel Straight Bourbon Whiskey (70cl, 49.5%)

Widow Jane Lucky Thirteen is a single barrel straight bourbon aged for a minimum of thirteen years, bottled at 49.5% (99 proof) in a 70cl bottle. It is non-chill filtered. The barrels matured in the distillery's rick house in Red Hook, Brooklyn, where changing temperatures and humidity, and each barrel's position in the rick house, lead to subtle differences in flavour. It is released in very small batches of little more than a handful of barrels, and proofed with limestone mineral water from the Rosendale Mines of New York. The nose offers vanilla bean, Earl Grey tea, caramel and sweet tobacco. On the palate come pecan pie, whole grain toast and grapefruit peel, followed by a finish of nutmeg, birch beer and dry oak tannin.
