Widow Jane Lucky Thirteen is a straight bourbon aged for a minimum of 13 years in new charred American oak. It comes in a 750ml bottle at 46.5% ABV and is non-chill filtered.
It is blended in small batches of just four to six barrels, using bourbon sourced in Kentucky, Indiana and Tennessee. The whiskey is finished in the Widow Jane rickhouse in Red Hook, Brooklyn, and brought to strength with limestone mineral water from the Rosendale Mines. The mash bill is high in rye.
On the nose there are vanilla bean, Earl Grey tea, caramel and sweet tobacco. The palate brings pecan pie, whole-grain toast and grapefruit peel, and the long, gently warming finish has nutmeg, birch beer and dry oak tannin.
