This is a Kentucky straight bourbon from Wild Turkey, aged for 12 years and produced by Austin Nichols. It comes from the 1991 gold foil release and is bottled at 101 proof, or 50.5% ABV, in a 750ml bottle.
The gold foil presentation tube is part of this release. Toasted oak and caramel run through the tasting notes, alongside leather, tobacco and a note of orange peel on the nose.
The palate is full-bodied, with brown sugar, vanilla, dark fruit and the rye spice associated with Wild Turkey. The finish is long and warming, with oak, tobacco and barrel char.
