Wild Turkey – Longbranch Bourbon (75cl, 43%)

Longbranch is a small-batch Kentucky straight bourbon from Wild Turkey, bottled at 43% in a 75cl-style 750ml bottle. It is made from a mash bill of 75% corn, 13% rye and 12% malted barley. After ageing, the bourbon is refined through two charcoals, American oak and then Texas mesquite. It was created by Master Distiller Eddie Russell together with Matthew McConaughey, who joined Wild Turkey as Creative Director in 2016, and it launched in 2018. The brand says the bourbon is eight years old, though the bottle carries no age statement. The launch notes describe caramel and pear with hints of citrus, finishing with gentle pepper and toasted oak.
