Rare Breed is a Kentucky straight bourbon from Wild Turkey, bottled at barrel proof, which means no water is added. It has a dark amber colour and is made in small copper stills, run continuously.
The nose combines tobacco, leather, vanilla and sweet spices, and with time brings fresh flowers, black pepper, dried fruit, honey and candied dates. The palate is soft, rich and full-bodied, mostly fruity, with orange, mint and fresh tobacco. The finish is warm and lingering, with hazelnut and toasted grain bread.
