Wild Turkey Rye is a Kentucky straight rye whiskey, bottled at 40.5% ABV in a 75cl bottle. It is made at the distillery in Lawrenceburg.
The mashbill is 51% rye, 37% corn and 12% malted barley, and the spirit is aged in new American oak barrels given a deep 'alligator' char.
The nose is green, herbal and forest-like, with sweetness, light oak, clove and leather. The palate is grain-led, with rye bread, pepper, eucalyptus, mint, vanilla and caramel. The finish is medium and dry, with peppery rye spice, oak tannins and a trace of mint.
