This is a four-year-old Kentucky rye from Willett, bottled at cask strength of 115 proof (57.5% ABV) in a 75cl bottle. It is a small batch release, made from a combination of selected barrels.
The nose layers brandied cherry over a mildly tart cherry, opening with time to cinnamon and baking spices and a hint of oak that points to its youth and high strength.
The palate is robust, with dark cherry, burnt vanilla and plenty of spice, and a weighty mouthfeel. The finish is long, led by spice, with the cherry pushing through.
