This is a four-year-old small batch straight Kentucky bourbon from Willett Distillery in Bardstown, bottled as a Family Estate expression. It was aged in hand-selected white oak barrels and bottled at cask strength, 62.5% ABV (125 proof), in a 75cl bottle.
The nose brings caramelised brown sugar, vanilla bean, toasted oak and baking spices. The palate is rich and bold, with dark cherry, toffee, charred wood and cinnamon. The finish is long, warming and pleasantly dry, with lingering sweet oak and a little peppery heat.
