Willett Johnny Drum Private Stock Bourbon (75cl, 50.5%)

A Kentucky straight bourbon from Willett Distillery in Bardstown, bottled at 50.5% ABV, or 101 proof, in a 750ml bottle. Private Stock is the top label of the Johnny Drum family. It is a small batch blend of two Willett mash bills, each aged separately in new charred American oak. The larger part, 65% of the blend, is 72% corn, 13% rye and 15% malted barley. The remaining 35% is a higher-rye mash bill of 52% corn, 38% rye and 10% malted barley. It is non-chill filtered. Tasting notes mention sour apple, vanilla and oak on the nose. The palate is a mix of fruit, vanilla and spice, balanced and complex.
