Willett – Pot Still Cask Strength Reserve Bourbon

A Kentucky straight bourbon from Willett, bottled at cask strength in the distillery's Pot Still bottle. It is released twice a year, at the spring and autumn equinoxes. The mash bill is wheated: 65% corn, 20% wheat and 15% malted barley, with wheat taking the place of rye. The spirit went into the barrel at 115 proof. As a batched, cask strength release, the exact strength varies from one release to the next. The nose offers toasted oak, caramel and warm bread, with fresh mint and a little wood smoke. The palate is full, with honey, dark brown sugar and vanilla. The finish is long and warming, with baking spices, caramelised sugar and oak.
