William Grant & Sons Rare Cask Reserves Ghosted Reserve 26 Year Old (75cl, 42%)

Ghosted Reserve is a 26 year old blended malt from William Grant & Sons' Rare Cask Reserves collection, in a 75cl bottle at 42% ABV. It is made only from malt whisky from two closed Scottish distilleries, Inverleven and Ladyburn, with no grain whisky. Master Blender Brian Kinsman selected aged malts from the company's warehouse stock and married them in hand-picked oak casks, giving the flavours time to meld. Inverleven worked from 1938 to 1991 and Ladyburn from 1963 to 1975. The release ran to 4,100 bottles. The nose is malted barley and oaky sweetness with a hint of citrus. The palate is deep and creamy, with almond oil, sweet oak, delicate spice and toasted almonds, and the finish is long and malty.
