William Larue Weller 2017 is a hand-bottled bourbon at barrel proof, 128.2 proof (64.1%). It is bottled uncut and unfiltered.
The recipe uses wheat in place of the traditional rye grain, a method pioneered by W.L. Weller.
The nose brings caramel corn, new leather, plums, light toffee and pipe tobacco. On the palate come marshmallow, salted almonds, nougat, figs and dates, and the finish is smooth, composed and sweet.
