William Lawson's Rare is a blended Scotch whisky from the 1970s, in a 70cl bottle at 40% ABV. The William Lawson's story starts in 1889, when E&J Burke, a blending, bottling and export company in Dublin, registered the Lawson's Liqueur Whiskey trademark. William Lawson came from Scotland, moved to Ireland and became Burke's secretary. When Martini & Rossi acquired the Lawson's blend, it was renamed William Lawson's, agreed with DCL, to avoid confusion with their Peter Dawson company. Blending was by then based in Coatbridge. Martini & Rossi set up William Lawson's Distillers in 1972 and bought Macduff distillery that year.

About Glenbotal

The idea of Glenbotal came to us naturally: as whisky lovers, we were always on the lookout for new experiences in the whisky world. That’s why we created Glenbotal and became our very own first customers. We buy unique and hard to find spirits from ballots and private collections. Then, we share them with a small circle of friends and people who can appreciate a good dram.
