This is William Lawson's Rare Light, a blended Scotch whisky from the 1970s, in a 75cl bottle at 43% ABV. The brand's history begins in 1889, when the Dublin blending and export company E&J Burke registered the trademark for Lawson's Liqueur Whiskey. William Lawson, of Scottish origin, had emigrated to Ireland and joined Burke as secretary. Burke ran its Scottish blending from offices in Dundee and Liverpool until operations moved to Coatbridge in the 1960s, when Martini & Rossi took over the Lawson's blend. In 1972 Martini & Rossi set up William Lawson's Distillers and acquired Macduff distillery.

About Glenbotal

The idea of Glenbotal came to us naturally: as whisky lovers, we were always on the lookout for new experiences in the whisky world. That’s why we created Glenbotal and became our very own first customers. We buy unique and hard to find spirits from ballots and private collections. Then, we share them with a small circle of friends and people who can appreciate a good dram.
