This is a 9 year old Laphroaig from Islay, bottled under the Williamson name by Càrn Mòr. It was matured in sherry hogsheads and bottled at 47.5% abv. The release is limited to 1,623 bottles and is non-chill-filtered and of natural colour.
The nose is dry and phenolic, with salty sea air and gentle spice, the smoke softened by fruit. On the palate, smoke and Islay character meet apricot, spice and soft oak. The finish is long and smoky, fruity-sweet at first, then drying like a dying campfire.
