Winglore Bogey Dope is a straight bourbon made in Virginia, bottled at 50.25% ABV (100.5 proof) in a 750ml bottle. It is matured in new charred American oak.
The name comes from military aviation. Bogey dope is information passed to a fighter pilot about an unidentified aircraft, and Winglore refers to the traditions and lore of flight.
The nose is warm caramel and toasted oak with dried corn sweetness and a thread of baking spice. On the palate come brown sugar, roasted grain, cinnamon, black pepper and toffee, with oak tannins adding grip. The finish is medium to long, with charred oak, caramel and dry spice.
