Wolfburn – Langskip Scotch Whisky (70cl, 58%)

Wolfburn Langskip is an unpeated Highland single malt from Wolfburn Distillery in Thurso, Caithness, bottled at 58% in a 70cl bottle. It is the distillery's most powerful expression and carries no age statement. The whisky is matured entirely in first-fill ex-bourbon casks. A little water is added to bring it to a consistent 58%, and it is non-chill-filtered and of natural colour. The name comes from the Norse longships, langskip, that once reached Caithness. The palate is typically described as rich and oily, with vanilla bean, honeycomb and cinnamon bark. A splash of water brings out orange oil and malt biscuit, and the finish is long, warm and oaky.
