Morven is a Highland single malt from Wolfburn in Thurso, Caithness, bottled at 46% ABV with no age statement. It is non-chill-filtered and of natural colour. The whisky was matured in ex-bourbon casks and Islay quarter casks.
It is named after Morven, the highest hill in Caithness, and is Wolfburn's nod to the peat-fired spirit of the original 19th-century distillery. It is lightly peated at 10 ppm.
The nose is smoky, with campfire and sea spray over vanilla pod. The palate is oily and sweet, with honey, charred citrus peel and a medicinal edge. The finish lingers with smoked oak and sweet malt.
