This is a 35 year old blended Scotch whisky from Wolfcraig Distillers, in a 70cl bottle. It spent its long maturation in bourbon barrels and has a honeyed gold colour.
The nose brings peach syrup, caramelised apple, moist lemon sponge cake and freshly starched linen, with pear, banana bread and grapefruit behind.
On the palate come marzipan, toffee apple, citrus fruits and frangipane, followed by grape pulp, lime marmalade, ginger cake with custard and a hint of Swiss white chocolate. The aftertaste is languorous.
