Woodford Reserve Baccarat Edition is a Kentucky straight bourbon finished in cognac casks and bottled at 45.2% ABV in a 700ml Baccarat crystal decanter. It is a limited edition.
The bourbon is made from copper pot still and column still distillates, with a mashbill of 72% corn, 18% rye and 10% malted barley. It matures for a minimum of six years in new charred American oak, then spends three years in French XO cognac barrels. Master Distiller Chris Morris has kept this long cognac finish for this bottling alone within the Woodford Reserve range.
Toasted oak, dark chocolate, vanilla bean and a raisin note lead the nose. The palate brings vanilla custard, butterscotch and candied citrus, and the finish is long, with baking spice and caramel mocha.
