The first barrel-strength rye whiskey from Woodford Reserve, a Kentucky straight rye bottled at 62.55% ABV in a 700ml bottle. It is a limited edition and is non-chill filtered.
The mash bill is roughly 53% rye, 33% corn and 14% malted barley, and the whiskey is matured in new charred American oak barrels.
Pepper, clove, nutmeg, toasted oak and orange peel mark the nose. The palate brings rye spice, leather, tobacco and dark chocolate, and the finish is long, with warm oak, citrus and the dryness of unsweetened tea.
