Woodford Reserve Batch Proof Rye is a limited edition rye whiskey bottled at 62.6% ABV (125.1 proof). The spirit is drawn straight from the barrel and bottled without dilution. It starts from Woodford's high-rye mash bill, distilled in copper pot stills and matured in deeply toasted, heavily charred American oak. It follows the annual Batch Proof Bourbon series. Tasting notes describe rye spice of black pepper, cinnamon bark and clove, with dried fruit, dark caramel, molasses and oak-derived chocolate emerging as it opens in the glass. The finish is long and warming, and a few drops of water soften the spice and bring out the sweeter notes.
