Woodford Reserve Double Oaked is a bourbon bottled at 45.2% ABV in a 375ml half bottle.
It begins as Woodford Reserve Distiller's Select, with a mash bill of 72% corn, 18% rye and 10% malted barley, aged in a new charred oak barrel. It then matures a second time in a barrel that is deeply toasted for 40 minutes and lightly charred, which adds oak sweetness and spice.
The nose offers blackberry, cherry, rich vanilla, caramel, toasted marshmallow, honey and chocolate. On the palate are cinnamon, warm oak, dark berries, roasted nuts and vanilla bean ice cream. The finish is moderately long, with sweet oak, leather, dark chocolate and tobacco leaf.
