Woodford Reserve Double Oaked is a Kentucky straight bourbon, bottled at 45.2% ABV in a 375ml bottle. It is made at Woodford Reserve Distillery in Versailles, Kentucky.
It starts as standard Woodford Reserve bourbon, made from 72% corn, 18% rye and 10% malted barley, then moves into a second new charred oak barrel. That barrel is toasted for 40 minutes and charred for only five seconds.
The nose is dark fruit, honey, caramel and chocolate. The palate is full-bodied and sweet, with vanilla, hazelnut and baked apple, and the finish is long and creamy with honeyed apple.
