Woodford Reserve – Double Oaked Rye Whiskey (75cl, 45.2%)

Woodford Reserve Double Oaked Rye is a Kentucky straight rye whiskey bottled at 45.2% ABV (90.4 proof), in a 750ml bottle. After its first maturation it is finished in a second new oak barrel, heavily toasted and lightly charred. The extra oak builds on the rye's spicy character with dark caramel, roasted nuts, coffee, dried fruit, chocolate and seasoned wood. The strength matches Woodford Reserve Rye, so the difference comes from the second barrel. The nose offers seasoned leather, aromatic cedar, dark fruit and toasted nuts. The palate brings warm baking spice, roasted coffee and rich oak, and the finish is long, with dark caramel, molasses and lingering spice.
