Woodford Reserve is a Kentucky straight bourbon from the Woodford Reserve Distillery in Woodford County, bottled at 45.2% ABV in a 75cl bottle.
It is triple distilled in both copper pot stills and column stills, from a mashbill of 72% corn, 18% rye and 10% malted barley. The whiskey is aged in warehouses that are heat-cycled through the year.
The nose brings dried fruit, mint, orange peel and cocoa, with vanilla, toasted oak and caramel beneath. The palate is rich and chewy, with citrus, cinnamon and gingerbread, and the finish is long, with char-grilled corn and oaky butterscotch.
