Woodford Reserve Master's Collection No. 22 Super Seasoned Oak Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey (70cl, 50.2%)

Woodford Reserve Master's Collection No. 22 is a Kentucky straight bourbon aged about nine years in Super Seasoned Oak barrels, bottled at 50.2% ABV in a 70cl bottle. The barrels are built from staves left out in the open for five to seven years, rather than the usual months up to a year. Master Distiller Elizabeth McCall made the barrel's wood the focus of this release in the distillery's experimental Master's Collection, which began in 2005. The mash bill is 72% corn, 18% rye and 10% malted barley. Rich caramel and vanilla with almond, cherry and cinnamon-dusted dried red apple on the nose. The palate is velvety vanilla and caramel with orange oil, cinnamon and clove, and the finish is sweet with warm cinnamon.
