Woodford Reserve – Master's Collection Super Seasoned Bourbon (70cl)

Woodford Reserve Master's Collection Super Seasoned is the 22nd release in Woodford Reserve's experimental Master's Collection, in a 70cl bottle. It was made under Master Distiller Elizabeth McCall and looks at how barrel staves are seasoned. Where traditional barrels use white oak seasoned in the open air for up to a year, these were crafted from staves exposed to the elements for up to seven years. That longer weathering removes harsh tannins, opens the grain and concentrates the natural sugars. The nose offers caramel and vanilla with almond, cherry and cinnamon-dusted dried red apple. The palate is vanilla and caramel with orange oils, cinnamon and clove, and the finish is warm and sweet.
